A recommended route that starts from Jumonji Station. You can enjoy a relaxing time while taking a walk through the streets of National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.

Bar・pasaporte
A fashionable bar with plenty of lunch options. It also has a wealth of dishes made with ingredients of Akita. These include a Japanese-style spaghetti dish with ketchup made using Inaniwa udon noodles. There is art that looks great in photographs at the entrance.
FRIENDOLL
The half-shaped melon buns contain a special filling. They are very popular with locals,and they sell out quickly,so we recommend you get here early.
KOMATSUYA HONTEN
A shop that is a hot topic of conversation because of its realistic larvae chocolate. There is also a café space inside the shop.
Yokote Park Observation Deck (Yokote Castle)
You will find the site of Yokote Castle, built by the Onodera Clan in the mid-16th century, on the premises. This castle, equipped with a tower-style observation deck built in the outer citadel, serves as a museum. You can see the streets of the city from the top floor of the observation deck. Cherry blossoms bloom in spring, and azaleas bloom from mid-June to delight the eyes of visitors.

A vast park packed with countless attractions for your enjoyment. Taste the excitement and experoence the thrills of Akita.
Akita Museum of Modern Art
An art museum adjacent to Akita Furusatomura. It collects and exhibits numerous works of art. These include Western-style Akita Ranga,that were actively drawn by Akita feudal lords and vassals in the Edo period (1603-1867).
Janosaki Bridge
Located on the former Ushu Highway. It is also known as Shimonohashi. Thousands of miniature kamakura (snow huts) are made here during kamakura season. These kamakura gives the place a magical atmosphere.

A roadside station with a lineup of local specialties and souvenirs.
Asamai Shuzo Co., Ltd.
The brewery of Amanoto - a sake made with brewer's rice harvested in the local Asamai district and spring water found on the grounds. The spring water is open to the general public. Anyone can drink it. You can also buy sake here.
Tsukinoki and Biwanuma Swamp
Tsukinoki are a symbol of the Hiraka district in Yokote. They have been listed as a protected species by Akita Prefecture. The trees are fantastically decorated at winter events. Therefore, we also recommend this location as a great spot to take photos.

Heian no Kaze Wataru Park
A historic park that extends out on the banks of Nishinuma - an old battlefield in the Later Three Year War. Karigane Bridge crossing the marsh reflects beautifully in the water. We highly recommend this spot for photography.

In addition to buying specialities and souvenirs here. You can also try local foods at the restaurant next door.
Houses and Gardens of Omonogawa Kidogorobei Village
Explore four thatched -roof houses (listed as tangible cultural properties by the city) from the Edo period (1603-1867) to the Taishō era(1912-1926) have been relocated and restored here to convey the look of those times. You can experience a warm space that has been around for 300 years in the seasonal scenery.
Later Three Year War Kanezawa Museum
A fascinating museum that exhibits picture scrolls and other valuable linked to the Later Three Year War.

Nashinoki Park
A park where locals can relax. There are two arched bridges here: The Ai Ai Bridge and Koi Koi Bridge. From late April to early May, cherry blossom trees surround more than fifty carp stremeas that flutter in the air here.

Streets of Masuda Information Center Hotaru
The land and building of the Kyokado Ishida Clinic that was open for nine generations up to the latter half of the Shōwa era(1926-1989) has been renovated and reopened as the Masuda Tourist Information Center. You can also tour the adjoining zashikigura (storehouse laid with tatami mats) in addition to receiving tourist information and buying souvenirs in the building.
Hinomaru Jozo Co., Ltd.
A brewery of Mansaku no Hana and other sakes. It has an uchigura (inner storehouse) that is a nationally listed tangible cultural property. You can tour the uchigura. The limited sake sold only at this brewery is also popular with visitors.
Shunsai Miso Chaya Kurawo
Shunsai Miso Chaya Kurawo is located in the Old Isamigoma Sake Brewery - a nationally registered tangible cultural property that brewed sake until 2003. You can eat fermented food made with a variety of seasonal ingredients and koji (malted rice) which is the pride of the Haba Koji Store that was established in 1918.
Masuda Tourism and Product Sales Center Kura-no-Eki
You can see the typical structure of merchant houses in Masuda including an uchigura (inner storehouse) from the Meiji era(1868-1912) here.
Sato Yosuke Urushigura(lacquered warehouse)Museum
The uchigura (inner storehouse) of Urushigura Museum was built in 1921. It was first listed as a tangible cultural property of Japan in 2007. It's beams and pillars are made of natural wood that is hundreds of years old. Historical materials of the Sato Yosuke House founded in 1860 are exhibited here.
Yokote Masuda Manga Museum
This was the first art museum in Japan with an Manga Genga thema. It was renovated in May 2019.

Mato Park
Known as one of the best cherry blossom spots in the prefecture. This famous park that was designated one of the 100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan in 1990.
